A large number of constituents from the villages and communities surrounding Heyford Park have recently got in touch to raise their concerns over the increasing traffic pressures coming as a result of Heyford Park.
As a local resident myself, I am only too aware of this problem and recognise that this is only going to get worse as the development continues. Dorchester have been generous in offering funding for traffic calming measures and I welcome this.
However, there are other areas which are still presenting problems and I would like to take these up with Cherwell District Council to see what further work can be done. The issue which has been raised with me most commonly is the proposed Middleton Stoney bus gate. I note that Middleton Stoney themselves remain opposed to the idea and so I do not think there is local support for this idea.
I believe that Highways and CDC need to look at this element of the development again to find workable solutions to the traffic problems facing the area.
