This time last year, my final column started with the observation that 2017 had been marked by its unpredictability. This year has been much the same. We continue to navigate the uncharted waters of Brexit which dominates the majority of my time at Westminster.
On Friday 14 December Victoria Prentis, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire, visited Sanctuary Supported Living’s (SSL) Rachel House to meet residents and learn more about SSL’s work with the ‘Starts at Home’ campaign.
On Monday 26 November, North Oxfordshire MP, Victoria Prentis, took the Chairman of the Oxfordshire Magistrates’ Bench and Chairman of the Oxfordshire Branch of the Magistrates Association to see the Courts Minister, Lucy Frazer MP.
On 27 November, the country marked Giving Tuesday 2018, an initiative run by the Charities Aid Foundation which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday and is aimed at increasing support for charities across the UK.
On Friday 30 November, Victoria Prentis MP met Hilary Hall, CEO of the National Hairdressers Federation, and Keith Mellen, Managing Director of hairdressing salon Anne Veck Limited, as part of this year’s Small Business Saturday.
Last week Victoria Prentis, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire, was delighted to announce that Blanka Preweda, aged 8, from Queensway Primary School, was the winner of her annual Christmas card competition.
On Wednesday 21 November, Dr Samantha Decombel and Cllr Lucinda Wing were chosen to follow in the footsteps of Victoria Prentis MP during an event aimed at encouraging more women to stand for election.
As we mark 100 years since the first women gained the right to vote, Victoria Prentis, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire, is inviting everyone in her constituency to get involved in UK Parliament Week and play a part in our democracy.
